I studied Classics - Ancient Greek and Latin - at the University of Oxford, where I had my first encounter with the archetypal forms of the human soul. I continued with a postgraduate degree (M.A.) in Late Antiquity and Byzantine Studies, at King’s College, University of London. In my thesis I focused on the autobiographical poems of Gregory of Nazianzus, where the deeply personal confession, theological insight and Homeric poetics coexist in a unique synthesis.
For 19 years, I worked at the Hellenic Literary and Historical Archives (ELIA) of the National Bank of Greece Cultural Foundation (MIET). There again my interest was in the expression of the personal, emotional and autobiographical element, as it emerged through the writers’ archives. In particular, I explored the personality of Ioannis Sykoutris, editing the volume With everlasting and unfaltering friendship. Letters of Ioannis Sykoutris to his students, 1933-1937. MIET, 2014.
My priority has always been my own analysis, which I have pursued for many years, but also the theoretical understanding of the therapeutic process.
The deep interest in mental life and its obstacles, which has permeated my life and interests from my student years to the present day, led me to a new professional path. In this perspective, I completed a Master's degree (MSc) in Person-Centered Counseling and Psychotherapy at the University of Strathclyde and completed my four-year training as a person-centered psychotherapist in the Person-Centered Roots Program, receiving the European Certification of Psychotherapy.
I was trained in counseling and psychotherapy of adults with emotional disorders of anxiety and depression, trauma, difficulties in interpersonal relationships and maladjustment.Because of my interest in the senior age groups, I worked extensively with older adults’ units (Iaso and Resteion). In this context, I also received the certification of "Integrated Geriatric Care", with specialized training at the National Center for Geriatric Care (University of Athens).
A mother of young children myself, I also completed the Parent Effectiveness Training (P.E.T.) Program, at Gordon Hellas, which equips me to support small groups of parents in developing stronger communication and relational skills, based on the principles of empathy, respect, and emotional attunement.
I perceive life as a journey of continuous enrichment of the whole self, of theoretical and scientific deepening in the process of psychotherapy and of further cultivating my capabilities to serve the function that my mind and heart call me to.I perceive life as a journey of continual growth and healing and look forward to walking that path with you.
